Edward Blanch

PRESIDENT

Edward is an affiliate owner in Southern California and is a CrossFit L3 coach. He has been judging elite level competitions since 2017 including the CrossFit Games, Semifinals, Sactionals and the Rogue Invitational. Edward is the original author of the JAG white paper that would be used as the foundation for what would become the AFJ group.

Originally from the UK, he has lived in the US since 2017. A former theater Producer, Director and Choreographer and has been involved in multi-million dollar projects in the US, Europe and Asia as well as the international charity HOPE with projects in Ghana, Romania, India and Zambia.

VICE PRESIDENT

Jules has been judging at elite level CrossFit events since 2017 including the CrossFit Games, regionals, sanctionals, semifinals and Rogue.  She has held leadership roles at multiple events to include Crossfit Semifinals, WZA and other Sanctional events since 2019. Currently maintains her Level 1 & 2 certifications as well as coaches regularly at her local gym.

Jules has a Bachelor degree in Business Marketing from James Madison University and a certificate of professional education in Financial Planning from Georgetown University.  She has 17 years of experience in the finance market, working with various Fortune 500 companies. Currently she maintains multiple securities & insurance licenses as well as CFP ® certification.

Amy Stone

TREASURER

Amy discovered CrossFit in 2010 and has held Judge and Leadership positions at all levels of competition since 2014, including Judge Director, Head Judge, Asst Head Judge and Team Lead at the CrossFit Games, Regionals, Sanctionals, Semifinals, Granite Games, Rogue Invitational and Wodapalooza. A former Level 2, she is excited to transition from the competition floor to mentoring the next generation of Judges and leaders.

In her 25-year career in the Financial Services industry, Amy currently serves as Vice President for a leading Investment Bank, managing a Capital Commitment Committee that reviews capital raise strategies for public and private offerings.

SECRETARY JOB DESCRIPTION

Will work with all required parties to further the goals and objectives of the AFJ, including but not limited to:

  • Record and distribute minutes from Board Meetings to required members.

  • Handle all new applications to the AFJ, from initial inquiry, vetting, welcome email, application form and entering their information into the directory. 

  • Update member’s information in the directory until an automated system can be put in place.

  • Responsible for all communication to active members of the directory regarding Competitions, Seminars, Newsletters and other points of Information.

  • Manage all social media posts & stories on the AFJ's Instagram Page.

DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION JOB DESCRIPTION

Will work with all required parties to further the goals and objectives of the AFJ, including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate work with the entire leadership team to further the Education component of the AFJ.

  • Help to produce online videos and documentation to aid in the ongoing education of the AFJ membership base.

  • Manage and be the main point of contact and reference for all in-person seminars around the world. This includes the organization, execution and updating of the seminars.

  • Coordinate the ongoing evaluation of judges and updating their information in the directory.

DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION JOB DESCRIPTION

Will work with all required parties to further the goals and objectives of the AFJ, including but not limited to:

  • Furthering the Education component of the AFJ in regards to Eurocentric documentation or videos encompassing the goals of the AFJ.

  • Contacting and continuing relationships with competitions, judges and organizers throughout Europe.

  • Working with local competitions in Europe to further the professionalisation of Judging competitions. This may include liaising with local competitions, confirming European competitions requirements and formalizing in a Letter of Intent with the competition director(s).

  • Assist the leadership team and Director of Education with the complete process of various AFJ Seminars throughout Europe from start to finish.

  • Give professional, unbiased feedback and insight into the state of European competitions, judges and organisers with the goal of improving the competitive space.
